Provide your animals with rapid, high-potency anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive relief with Dexamethasone Injection. Dexamethasone is a highly advanced synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid that delivers up to 30 times the therapeutic power of standard cortisone. Trusted by veterinarians worldwide, this quick-acting injectable solution is specifically formulated to treat acute inflammatory conditions, severe allergic reactions, ketosis in cattle, and shock across multiple animal species. Packaged in a convenient multipack of five 5ml vials, it is an essential addition to any emergency veterinary kit.

Key Product Benefits:

  • Ultra-Potent Anti-Inflammatory Action: Rapidly reduces severe swelling, tissue inflammation, and joint pain caused by trauma or chronic musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Emergency Shock & Allergy Management: Acts as a vital therapeutic agent during acute anaphylactic shock, severe allergic flares, and respiratory distress.
  • Metabolic Support for Cattle: Highly effective in treating primary bovine ketosis (acetonemia) by rapidly elevating blood glucose levels.
  • Convenient Single-Use Multipack: The 5ml*5 vial configuration ensures sterile, pre-measured portions, reducing drug waste in clinics, farms, or shelters.

Active Ingredient:

  • Dexamethasone (Check the physical product label for the exact mg/mL concentration, typically standardized at 2mg/mL or 4mg/mL).

📋 Veterinary Administration & Dosage Guidelines

Dexamethasone is an exceptionally powerful hormone that alters systemic metabolic pathways. Dosing must be calculated with absolute precision based on the animal’s species, body weight, and the severity of the condition under a vet's strict prescription.

General Guidance:

  • Administration Route: Can be administered via Intramuscular (IM) or Intravenous (IV) injection depending on the animal species and clinical urgency.
  • Typical Species Applications:
    • Cattle & Horses: Frequently utilized for acute musculoskeletal inflammation, ketosis (cattle), or breathing distress.
    • Dogs & Cats: Reserved for short-term management of acute hypersensitivity reactions, spinal cord trauma swelling, or shock stabilization.
  • Tapering Rule for Extended Use: If dexamethasone is administered for more than a few days, never stop the treatment abruptly. The dosage must be gradually tapered off over several days under veterinary supervision to prevent a sudden, dangerous crash of the animal's natural adrenal gland function (Addisonian crisis).

⚠️ Important Veterinary Health & Safety Information

  • Visual Description & Symptoms: The product consists of a clear, sterile aqueous solution enclosed inside a pack of five separate 5ml glass vials with rubber seals. It is urgently utilized when animals display clinical signs of severe physical crisis, such as acute swelling from insect/snake bites, severe respiratory distress or wheezing, visible joint swelling with an inability to walk, or lethargy and sweet-smelling breath in dairy cows (ketosis).
  • Three Potential Mismanagement Risks: To ensure safe treatment and avoid critical systemic complications, prevent administration errors which include:
    1. Combining with NSAIDs: NEVER inject dexamethasone concurrently with any Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (such as meloxicam, carprofen, or firocoxib). Doing so can cause immediate, catastrophic gastrointestinal perforation, massive stomach ulceration, or acute kidney failure.
    2. Using in Late Pregnancy: Avoid administering to pregnant livestock during the third trimester, as high-dose corticosteroids can trigger premature parturition or accidental abortion.
    3. Halting Prolonged Therapy Suddenly: Failing to slowly taper down a long-term dose risks triggering acute adrenal insufficiency.
  • Contraindications & Storage: Do not use in animals suffering from active viral or fungal infections, severe diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis, or advanced renal disease unless used in an immediate life-saving emergency. Store the vials at controlled room temperature, protect them from freezing, and keep completely out of direct sunlight and reach of children.
