📋 Veterinary Administration & Dosage Guidelines

Clamoxyl LA is a highly concentrated injectable suspension. Dosing must be calculated strictly based on the animal’s exact body weight, following a veterinarian's prescription.

General Guidance:

  • Administration Route:
    • Cattle, Sheep, Pigs: Administer via Intramuscular (IM) injection deep into the muscle tissue.
    • Dogs & Cats: Administer via Subcutaneous (SQ) or Intramuscular (IM) injection.
  • Standard Clinical Dosage: The universally accepted dose is 15 mg of amoxicillin per kg of body weight (equivalent to 1 mL of suspension per 10 kg / 22 lbs of body weight).
  • Repeat Interval: If required by clinical evaluation, a second injection may be administered exactly 48 hours after the initial dose.
  • CRITICAL Technique Rule: Shake the 100ml bottle vigorously before every single use to ensure the amoxicillin crystals are completely resuspended in the oil base. Use completely dry needles and syringes; water contact inside the vial causes the suspension to thicken and clog.

⚠️ Critical Withdrawal Periods (Time Before Slaughter/Milking for Food Safety):

  • Cattle (Meat): 28 days following the last treatment.
  • Sheep (Meat): 19 days following the last treatment.
  • Pigs (Meat): 19 days following the last treatment.
  • Cattle (Milk): 84 hours (7 milkings) following the last treatment.

⚠️ Important Veterinary Health & Safety Information

  • Visual Description & Symptoms: The product presents as an off-white, sterile, fluid oily suspension safely stored inside a durable 100ml multi-dose glass vial with a protective rubber seal. It is typically sought after when animals display clinical signs of a heavy bacterial infection, such as labored breathing, wheezing or coughing (pneumonia), foul-smelling diarrhea (colibacillosis), infected deep wounds and post-surgical abscesses, or acute mastitis in livestock.
  • Three Potential Mismanagement Risks: To ensure safe treatment and protect livestock consumer safety, prevent application errors which include:
    1. Injecting the product intravenously (IV) or intrathecally, which can lead to immediate, fatal anaphylactic shock or severe cardiovascular failure.
    2. Using wet syringes or letting water drop into the vial, which causes the oil-based suspension to irreversibly clump and ruin the remaining medicine.
    3. Ignoring the mandatory agricultural withdrawal periods, which violates food safety compliance laws regarding commercial meat and dairy production.
  • Contraindications & Storage: Do not use in animals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to penicillins or cephalosporins. Strictly contraindicated for oral or injectable use in rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, or gerbils, as amoxicillin destroys their delicate cecal gut flora, leading to fatal enterotoxemia. Store at controlled room temperature below 25°C, protect from freezing, and keep completely out of reach of children.
